But something I have a difficult time with (being the second oldest) is after Lauren (the oldest) passed away, people would say to me that I was going to have to step into her role of being the oldest.
While I knew I was going to have to step up and help out more, I never wanted to think of myself as the oldest, and no matter how I try, I could never fill her shoes as best she did. God made her to be the oldest, and even though she is gone, I wasn’t born the oldest, therefore I don’t need to take over that title.
I feel my role in the family never changed, but I really do believe that God has given me more wisdom and knowledge to be helpful now that she isn’t here. So, in conclusion, I am where I need to be, I am where God has me, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
